About us

Schöns Züri is the municipal graffiti cleaning service. Beautiful Zurich, clean, gray, without color. Who gets to decide what is beautiful? Certainly not the state or any institutions. Cold gray walls are dismal and depressing. No matter what a graffiti looks like, it shows us: someone lives here in this city. Someone stood right here. They existed.

We turned the S upside down. Schönz Züri was born.

In April 2014, issue 1 appeared in Sixpack Graffitishop in Zurich. Everyone said print was dead. We did it anyway. Today, there is a vibrant Swiss graffiti magazine scene again: Berncitycrime Magazine, Junkz, Alles Erlaubt, Farbenfroh Magazin, Graffiti.ZHH Magazin. We are happy about that.

What is SZ today?

A new magazine annually since April 2014. Available on 1312.ch as well as at Hard2Buff, Layup, No Evidence, Graffland, Co-Mix Remix and many more. 3 films, all available for free on YouTube. The first Swiss German graffiti podcast ever. Over 60,000 stickers distributed, included for free with every order.

The magazines are cultural heritage. The graffiti version of the old Mickey Mouse comic books. Each issue with an interview, art cover, and a special, something different every time.

Since 2021, we have also been active as a streetwear brand. The same attitude, a different medium. Anti-authoritarian, humor, freedom.

Schönz Züri is not for everyone, and that's a good thing.
